What an insolvency notice means for a supplier
When an administrator or liquidator is appointed, the company's assets are frozen and sorted by who has a registered claim over them. Suppliers who registered a security interest on the PPSR before the appointment are secured creditors over the goods they supplied and, with the right terms, over the proceeds. Suppliers who didn't register are unsecured creditors; ASIC's statistics show unsecured creditors receive less than 11 cents in the dollar in around 96 per cent of liquidations.
Every notice page here sets out the appointment, the practitioner, the dates that matter and the steps a creditor can take: lodging a proof of debt, asserting a registered interest, and what not to do with equipment on hire. It explains the process; it doesn't assess your claim. See also PPSR registration explained and voluntary administration in the glossary.

Where do these insolvency notices come from?
From ASIC Published Notices, the official register of notices that administrators and liquidators must publish when they're appointed to a company. We filter to the industries where suppliers and equipment lessors are most exposed and add what a creditor can do by when.
What's the difference between voluntary administration and liquidation?
Voluntary administration is a short process where an independent administrator takes control and creditors vote on whether the company continues under a deed or is wound up. Liquidation is the winding up itself: assets are sold and paid out in a fixed order, with secured creditors first and unsecured creditors last.
A customer of mine is on this list. What should I do first?
Lodge a proof of debt with the administrator or liquidator for everything you're owed, then run the free check to find out whether you had a PPSR registration against them. If you did, assert your security interest in writing. If you didn't, register every other customer this week.
Can I get an alert when one of my customers appears here?
Yes. OnTerms plans include a watch on your customer list: the day one of them appears in an insolvency notice, you get an email with what to do by when.
