Duration (end time)
How long a registration lasts: up to 7 years, up to 25 years, or no end time.
Fees rise with duration ($6, $25, $115). A registration that lapses is gone; a replacement only ranks from its own date. Serial-numbered consumer goods are capped at seven years. Suppliers usually pick seven years and renew.
